It is possible
To be both
Strong & gentle

Warrior & caregiver
Indeed it is possible
To be a peacemaker
And the one who calls out
The ugly that resides
In our midst
It is possible to be
To just be
And for that to be
Enough

I wrote this little poem years ago (2.20.2016). It speaks to my journey as a writer, as a social justice advocate, and my journey to encourage thriving life and peacemaking. In someways I think now this poem also speaks to my journey as a caregiver for others while also maintaining my own sense of needing to just be myself outside of that. Who knew a little poem could mean so much!
