Poem 10.13.2023

When I think of
What you
Did to
Me

I think of barbed wire
Wrapped around my chest
Poking through these
Ample breasts

Blood running down
These once strong arms
Feet stuck with push pins
Silence…

My beating heart alarms

When I think of
What you
Put me
Through

I think of Golden Calf Statues
I think of bowing down to pain
I think of deserts before the rain

I think of freedom
On its way
And feel the warmth
That’s here to stay
You’ll never win
I’ll never lose
This fight to tell
The entire truth
