“Ghost Dinner”
Can you hear the sound of spirits
Arriving to share in the eternal feast
The food long expired for those who prepared the vast banquet beyond
The reach of their senses
The sickly sweet smell of the living lingers
On the breath of the newly initiated souls
Skirting invisible walls
Timidly awaiting the sumptuous invitation
To feast with the ones without age or form
Those spirits familiar with the infinite revelry
That comes with release of concept and consciousness
Existing outside of the tangible and mortal
And all other figments of life’s imaginings
For while Death may feed on the minds of the living
In the minds of feasting spirits Death is nothing at all.
