[cross to bear]
when the weight of the world
becomes too much to bear
find yourself somewhere new
go be a waif where the trees
stretch caustic capillaries
twilighted by tendriled limbs
go where life throbs tombstones
into pulsation & the dead scrape
sky with silent acceptance
go and find yourself clutching
cloth to chin, keeping the sylph
of your breath close to your soul—
but do not worry when you cannot
tell who is more alive; just know
that to be dying is to have lived
