At the end- A poem

At the end of time
There is a light that shines
Brighter than any
Star, moon, or planet
Sometimes I ask it

How I can fathom
All of its
Intricate
Detailed patterns

How can I gaze
Upon its glory
All of its brightness
All of its rightness
I’ve heard the story
Of how it came to be
These stories
They aren’t lost on me

Yet I flounder
As I ponder
Wondering if distance
Really made this heart
Grow fonder

Yearning to be bathed
In the warmth
Of the light
At the end of time
Reflecting
In my minds eye

We build shrines
To cover our sickness
Induced land mines
Insisting we’re fine
It’s all right

Is it alright
If our restless apathy
Continues to bury me
Far away from the lights
That call to me
Or is the call truly
To bust out
And break free

Let me learn
About love
And envy
The circle of righteous
Humility

Let me see
Let me see that light
At the end of time
Please
